Season Summary

The A·F·L Chart Soccer season 190 began as usual with the Premier Cup tournament, which was won by Chelsea, with a 3–0 victory against Manchester United in the final. It's the second final loss in a row for United.

In an exciting finish to the season, Wolves won their third title in six seasons, their tenth overall. Tottenham, Man Utd and Arsenal started off the season as pace setter, whilst Wolves occupied the middle of the table positions until the middle of the season. Following this they were the form team for 16 matches, and reached the top spot briefly in match week 29. From there it was a five horse race, with Arsenal, Spurs, Wolves, Man Utd and West Ham all in with a shout in the final stages. By the penultimate round it was neck and neck between Arsenal and Wolves but on the final match day Wolves won 2—0 at Leicester, whilst the Gunners, with a superior goal difference, could only draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and therefore Wolves took the title.

So, the qualifiers for the Euro League are Wolves, Arsenal, Spurs, and West Ham, whilst Manchester United and Chelsea, along with Liverpool as the AFL Cup winners, qualify for the Euro Cup.

At the bottom end, Derby did not manage to get going at all and were looking doomed from quite early on. A few decent results towards the end of the season were not enough and they went straight back down again. Everton performed poorly also, and despite a bright period towards the end of the the season, they also dropped into the second tier for the second time in recent seasons. Blackburn looked like dropping straight back into Division One as well as Derby, but a decent run-in saw them finish 14th, whilst Crystal Palace had a poor run-in and took the drop to the second tier.
